Rooting for Change

Mr. Surendra Kumar Sikka (1934 – 2025) was a visionary leader, industrialist, economist, and philanthropist whose life reflected a profound commitment to knowledge, progress, and service to society.

Over six decades, he played a pioneering role in developing India’s Pulp, Paper, and Power sectors, helping foster technological advancement and international collaboration. Beyond industry, he believed the true measure of progress lies in the intellectual and ethical development of society.

He believed that a resilient and enlightened society must nurture education that empowers minds, confidence among women, compassion toward all living beings, and responsibility toward nature.
